JACKIE TAYLOR MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Jackie Taylor Jackie's love of perioperative nursing commenced during her general nurse training at St Helens Hospital South Brisbane. She then moved to the new Wesley Hospital and forged lifelong friendships with her nursing colleagues. During this time she became an experienced, knowledgeable and professional perioperative nurse utilising her skills to teach others in a calm and patient manner. Jackie then moved to North West Private Hospital and continued her career in a clinical, teaching and management role. She became an untiring worker for PNAQ during this phase of her career and spent several years as Treasurer. She also went on to be elected ACORN Representative and her calm and positive approach to problem solving was appreciated by all. Jackie was a serving Executive member of PNAQ when she died on 5 June 2001. Rae's words at a memorial service on 11 June 2001 hint at the heartfelt loss of Jackie .... She was our mentor, our confidante, our colleague, our sister and our friend and we will miss her forever. Reference: Rae Guyder & Lyn Hill, PNAQ Newsletter June 2001 ![]()
